Through a creative writing experience, the journey of Matador Juan Carlos is followed to develop the story of achieving immortality and greatness.
The dry riverbed in 5 meters below the surrounding city, the uplift of land begins to redefine flow and connectivity across the ancient lifeblood of the city.
Like a post stuck in a river, water slows around it and attracts new life.
Enveloping the post, a system grows inside, feeding the flow of life below.

The Tower rises from the depths of the earth.
Every 4th floor the floor plate changes to preserve greater construction efficiency.
The Diagram Skin and Braced Core handle both axial and vertical loading. The organic form of the building affords it greater efficiency in axial loading.
The 69th floor is an enclosed double height service and equipment floor. The 70th floor is an observation deck.

Torre Vida | Immortal Tower
Charged with developing a supertall in a location with which I had a cultural tie, Torre Vida exists as a synthesis of the journey a matador undertakes throughout a bull fight. Ripe with development and unconventional urban sprawl, Torre Vida joins Santiago Calatrava along the ancient, but recently drained, Rio Turia riverbed.
Once being the Lifeblood of the city and port of Valencia, the tower aims to return a new type of life to the river, Immortal life. Following the fictional matador Juan Carlos and his ascencion to immortality, the grounds and tower alike undergo and transformation that uplifts life and beacons to all as the tower of light bursting forth from the underworld below.
